April Update

April is such a fun month, filled with planting! With the funky weather, it was a little nerve-racking hardening off the young plants, but they mostly did well – a few failures with some cold weather crops, like the poor radishes and cauliflower who didn’t understand where the cold weather was. However, they are coming around, even if you don’t see them in your first box! The lettuce and spinach are doing beautifully, and the beets, turnips, and onions are taking shape quickly. The first box is always the least diverse and least bountiful, but I am happy to report that it is looking pretty good! I’m so excited!

I’d also like to mention that we are planting the summer time crops – eggplant, tomatoes, peppers, and various squashes are already in the ground, and they are looking like they will take wonderfully!
